Fall, Friendship, Fun

Today in art class our friends designed their own leaf stamps.

Using brown, yellow, red and orange color tempera, the Sparrows painted their stamps and printed the leaves onto white paper.

It was nice to see the Sparrows enjoying their artwork, being creative and feeling proud!

By the end of art class the kids had a lot of fun making colorful and unique leaf prints!

Back in the classroom, the children listened to the book Little Penguin, a story based on friendship and how size and/or age are not important when you have true friends.

Music class started with the Sparrows exploring different instruments.

Then sitting in a circle, we sang "Jambo," the welcoming song.

Then all of the Sparrows shook their egg shaped little maracas while Keisha sang, and they danced and shook the maracas. Friends ended the chorus with a pose. Each Sparrow had the opportunity to choose their own pose. They love to express themselves!

After music we came back to the room. Some sparrows worked on their self portraits,

while others were decorating the drawings representing each of the letters of our classroom alphabet.
