Sea Turtles and Clams

After lower school assembly this morning, the Sparrows came back to the classroom for choice time, and to work on their Spring gallery projects. Friends are using all types of materials to create their works of art. Friends are choosing to use items from our indoor and outdoor classrooms. Next week, we look forward to completing our projects to put on display in our classroom gallery.

During outdoor play, friends played their favorite games and activities. Friends explored in the sandbox and pond, as well as set up an ice cream shop. As always, a class favorite is to run around playing chasing games.

The end of the year may be near, but there is still a lot of work to be done in the Sparrow classroom! This week friends worked on creating sea turtles and clams for our Under the Sea displays. Friends painted large paper plates for the turtles, and attached green flippers and googly eyes! For the clams, friends used droppers to squeeze liquid watercolor onto the back of small paper plates. Each Sparrow got to choose a bead special to them to represent its clam's pearl.

Make sure to check out our newest Under the Sea display on the bulletin outside our classroom!

Ask your Sparrow how they made their sea turtles and clams.
