Switcheroo!

After lower school assembly this morning, the Sparrows came back to the classroom. During our group circle we played a literacy game, I have, Who has. Each friend received two cards. The cards each had two letters on them. A friend would read their card, for example "I have A, who has F?, and then the friend who had the card they asked for would stand up and announce what was on their card. We repeated this process until all cards were collected.

Some Cardinal friends stopped by to join in on the fun!

Later on, after snack, the Catbirds, Cardinals, and Sparrows did a switcheroo. Friends from each of the three classes rotated in out of the three classrooms in groups of 3-5. Friends spent 30 minutes in each class. It was clear that friends enjoyed "switching" classrooms and exploring a different space with other groups of friends.

Usually, all three classrooms spend their time together outside on the playground. This was another fun way for us all to be together! When leaving the classroom, friends asked if they could come back and do it again!

Ask your Sparrow what they enjoyed about being in the other classrooms.

Have a great weekend and stay safe!!

Dirty Cupcakes and Bubbles

After a peaceful Meeting for Worship, we came back to the classroom and had morning meeting and  choice time. One of the activities was to paint newspapers with grey color tempera. Once the papers dry, they will become the rocks on our "Under the Sea" board.

Today, the Sparrows looked through our sea creature slideshow and decided what animals they would like to study...then friends decided to take a group picture.

Outside, the Sparrows ran around and enjoyed the warm sunshine. We brought a bubble wand to the playground. Friends LOVED catching and running through the bubbles! The Sparrows took turns blowing bubbles.

While some friends were playing chasing games, others were climbing and blowing bubbles.
This group of Sparrows decided to make "Dirty Cupcakes".

Ask your Sparrow what sea creature they chose to learn more about!

Dress up day!

Today the Sparrows shared the last meeting for Worship with their 3rd grade buddies. Then Friends enjoyed the rest of the day playing ...
